Hey everyone, I’m looking for opinions on dealers/independents in or around Boston for a 40k mile DSG Service on my Mk6 GTI (I’m at 59k and just realized I’m not sure if the previous owner did it at 40k) and have no experience with VW dealers and shops around here yet.
I’ve read online dealers charging anywhere from $275 to $500 and it seems to vary big time by location.

We have had excellent luck with Mattie Imports in Fall River. I know it is a hike from Boston area but they have been excellent to deal with, hell the have kept my friends All Road running without a major repair.

Not in Boston area, but I’d recommend an indy shop. Dealers near me wanted 280+ to do it. Indy sh op near me charged 199.

I live in Boston proper but the GFs family actually lives in Fall River/Tiverton ... I’ll keep them in mind. Thanks!

If you were inclined to do it yourself and had the space to do it yourself, this video makes it seem pretty straightforward.
Buuuuut... working on cars outside in the winter suuuuuuuuuuckzzzzzzzzz. As I found out this past Sunday when I was finally able to do an oil change on my own car.

If my living situation was any different (i.e. garage/driveway) I no doubt would be doing it myself. Unfortunately, I only have a tiny parking spot I pay through the nose for at my building and wouldn’t be able to get it done there. Not to mention like you said, wrenching in the cold sucks immensely. Thanks for the video, though.

Dealer here wants $367 and a very reputable Euro shop down the street from my office (A+ for convenience) wants $320. Yikes. I’m going to shop around for quotes a bit more, may just have to go with the $320 indy due to proximity to my job.
